BUSIA COUNTY GOVERNMENT TO ROLL OUT COMPREHENSIVE MARKET COMMITTEES SENSITIZATION PROGRAM
The Busia County Government’s Department of Trade, Industries, Cooperatives and SMEs is set to launch an extensive sensitization program aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of market committees across the county. This initiative will target over 140 markets, with a focus on improving market management, clarifying roles, SME promotion and boosting revenue performance. The County Executive for Trade, Industries, Cooperatives and SMEs, Olakachuna Omuse, announcing the upcoming program, highlighted its importance in fostering better market administration and economic growth. The Executive said that their goal is to equip every market committee with the knowledge and tools they need to excel in their roles, adding that the sensitization program is crucial for ensuring that markets operate efficiently and transparently.
